Experience
Thirty five years with Kirkland & Ellis; lead trial/appellate
counsel in many of the firm's most significant cases. Served nearly
two decades on firm management committee. Six years as Executive
Vice President, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Morgan Stanley;
also served on the firm's Management Committee. Oversaw legal, compliance,
government relations, community affairs and internal audit functions
(over 1000 employees). Currently, a CPR- and AAA-certified arbitration
and mediation neutral, Adjunct Professor of Law and private practitioner.
Served from 2004 through 2007 as a Commissioner on the Antitrust
Modernization Commission. Before entering law school, spent three
years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps.

Handled a wide variety of cases, including commercial, intellectual
property, securities, antitrust, employment, bankruptcy and other
disputes. Also had an active counseling practice, particularly in
advising on corporate governance issues and merger, acquisition
and other transactional matters.

AAA Arbitration of Intellectual Property and Licensing Disputes
program, ICDR Forum on International Arbitration, CPR Annual Meeting

and Harvard Program on Negotiation.
